So here's my two cents on tragedy, Katrina, and two-party politics, in a nutshell:
what the hell kind of name is Trent Lott, anyway? Doesn't it say a lot about our country that we vote a man with that name into office?
That said, it hardly stands to reason that Republicans are, by definition, Presidential underlings incapable of independent rational thought. And even if they are, there are certainly people who take such pride in their "bleeding heart" label that its been a while since they paused to consider what their hearts were bleeding for, apart from angst at Republicans.

Maybe its a good thing I'm a history teacher.

As a history teacher, I hope you teach your students to back up their arguments with better sources than that.
